Leica CloudWorx for AutoCAD 4.2.1

We are pleased to announce the latest release of Leica CloudWorx for AutoCAD 4.2.1. This release provides a major improvement to rendering speed and an important new capability for working with Limit Boxes.

Leica CloudWorx will now also honor the point cloud display setting of layers in Cyclone (requires Cyclone 7.3.2).

Rendering Improvements

Leica has introduced several improvements in point cloud rendering which result in better and denser point cloud rendering. Leica CloudWorx now uses much less memory and delivers better dynamic performance across all versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD based products (Civil 3D, etc.) from version 2010 forward.

They have also improved the point cloud snapping capabilities to be more accurate in all modes but users are still advised that the most reliable snapping will still be available in 2D or wireframe mode versus full 3D perspective.

Also the need for unnecessary regenerations of the point cloud when saving, Closing, etc has now been resolved.

Finally, they've improved the point picking speed and accuracy.

Limit Box Improvements

There is a new Limit Box Parameters dialog box that opens from the Clipping Manager Dialog Box. This gives users new easy to use ways to resize and move limit boxes.

New Modify command for Limit boxes

  1. After creating a limit box, right click on the limit box in the clipping manager and choose Modify…:

The two sliders control the increment of movement or resize from .01 to 10 times the original size or movement step each time a button is pressed under Move or Resize.
