After any service or calibration process has been performed on an instrument, it is advisable that, at the time of collection, all memory devices are formatted (CF/SD-cards, USB’s and internal memories). This is especially significant if an instrument has received a replacement part.
Once the kit has been returned to you, normally hidden within Tools is the option to “format memory devices”. Any survey data will be lost during formatting, so ensure this has been copied prior and backed up. Note, that the TS and TM30’s have a 256MB internal memory, so this can be formatted in the same way as well.
