With hire instruments arriving and leaving site every day, the requirement to manage your survey data in one complete and up-to-date database is crucial. With Leica Viva TS & CS products, it is now far easier to transfer data between instruments than with previous kits. If an instrument is leaving site, here’s how to ‘copy’ all your data, and ‘paste’ it onto the new instrument.
Note, USB sticks & SD-Cards are the easier storage devices for file transfer.
From the main menu in SmartWorx Viva:
Fn, F6-EXIT
Double-click on MyDevice from the Desktop
Data on the internal memory:
Double-click on Leica Geosystems
Double-click on SmartWORX Viva
tap'&'hold and ‘copy’ the DBX folder
Data on a CF/SD-Card
Double-click on SD/CF-Card
tap'&'hold and ‘copy’ the DBX folder
then simply navigate to the USB-stick or SD-Card within MyDevice, ‘tap&hold’ and paste the data into a temporary folder.
Repeat the process in reverse on the replacement instrument (‘tap&hold’ and paste)
