Leica Viva SmartWorx - Firmware Upgrade

Before you commence the update process, back up your 'User Objects' such as your 'Working Styles', 'RTK Profiles', format-files, codelists etc by:
Main Menu
4 User
4 Tools & utilities
1 Transfer user objects
Choose 'All objects' and create a .zip file.
No survey data will be lost during upload.

New firmware versions are released several time per year. They contain added features and extra functionality, iteratively improving the SmartWorx Viva survey suite. Put the .fw (firmware) file and all the .AXX (apps) files into the System folder a CF or SD-card.

Object to Transfer: Firmware
From: SD Card
Firmware: Viva+WinCE_EN.fw
Version: v4.00
Ensure you have a full battery.
F1 OK
Allow the controller to turn off, turn on and complete the installation (10mins).

To check that the firmware loaded properly:
Main Menu
4 User
5 About Leica Viva

F6 Page across to the SmartWorx Viva tab.
Ensure that the SmartWorx Viva version says v3.52 / v4.00
F1 OK to return to the Main Menu.

Now load the application programs.
Main Menu

2 Load firmware, Apps

Object to Transfer: Apps
From: SD Card
Firmware: Reference_Line (etc)
Version: v3.52 / v4.00
Tick 'Install all Apps'
F1 OK to commence the upload (10mins) and return you to the Main Menu - the update is complete.

To reload all of your 'User Objects':
Main Menu
4 User
4 Tools & utilities
1 Transfer user objects
From SD card, to Internal memory, copying from the .zip file.
