Finance Assistant

POSITION TITLE: Finance Assistant
BUSINESS AREA: SCCS Surveying Equipment Ltd
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTING TO: Accountant
LOCATION: Eaton Socon  

Role & Purpose of the Position:
We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team, this role will work closely with our Accountant based in our Eaton Socon Head Office.
This role will be on a 27.5-hour contract working Monday to Friday 09.30-15.00

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Credit checking and setting up new customer ledger accounts
  • Downloading bank statements and posting supplier payments
  • Purchase Ledger tidy /reconciliations
  • Preparation and reporting of sales figures to Group
  • Preparation of customer dashboard reports
  • Analysis of general ledger accounts
  • Intercompany reporting
  • Month end journal preparation:
    • Deferred revenue and costs
    • Late sales invoices and credits
    • Late purchase invoices and credits
  • Trial balance check and month end reporting
  • Answering and dealing with finance calls
  • Part of the external calls phone rota
  • Other ad hoc work as required by the Accountant and Finance Manager
  • Holiday cover as required for others in the Finance Department
  • Support for year end processes and statutory audit

 

Experience:

  • 2 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong IT skills intermediate Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables and formulas)
  • Working knowledge of Sage Line 50 desirable
