Benefits of TheoLT
Key Features of TheoLT
PLANS
Working from the whole to the part (referencing previously surveyed external plans) or from the part to the whole (building the plan room by room), TheoLt allows total flexibility. Each building may be approached using the best possible method.
Create Disconnected, Semi-connected or Fully-connected plans. Using the AutoCAD layering structure, TheoLt allows multiple floorplans within the same drawing file ensuring that details match from floor to floor in a multi-storey building.
With a least-squares traversing option, large and complex buildings may be captured with confidence. Full QA reporting allows this confidence to be passed on to the client with ease.
Need to measure complex rooms with the Disto? No problem, the TheoLt least-squares engine takes all the wall and check measurements into account (with weightings) and creates the bestfit plan.
ELEVATIONS
Elevations may be measured in isolation or as part of a complex building survey (disconnected or fully-connected).
The starting point may be an arbitrary setup aligned to a wall, an existing traverse or indeed full OS referenced co-ordinates from a GPS system.
Measure in full 3D (angle and distance) or angle only (planar intersection) modes. Planes may be stored and recalled as required.
Use the TheoLt Feature Library to insert common elevational features.
Link with PhoToPlan for insertion of photo-rectifi cation control points;TheoLt records the major dimensional information; the photography the fine details.
When working on a complex project, store the elevational and plan data in a single drawing file allowing "wall cuts" to be transferred in either direction between the plans and elevations.
TOTAL SURVEY
Building Surveys are no longer "just" measured drawings. In many cases further information is requested by the client; Surface finishes, overall conditions, power sockets, desks.
TheoLt allows you to capture all of the data you require with easy to use configuration of
templates and features. TheoLt Features record graphical and textural information, all spatially referenced (if required) within formatted files for export to other systems.
Link TheoLt with Adobe Acrobat or Windows Journal for User Defined forms.
Handwritten notes or "check box" forms may all be stored electronically , referenced to the drawing with a simple point and click.
Utilise a mobile phone to record voice notes or capture photographs and videos
to highlight features in the building.
Create a TheoLt "Strategy" (check list) to ensure the surveyor completes the required tasks in each room, capturing all the data for the survey.
Major Fuctions of TheoLT
• Project manager
• Orientation by reference

Allows the user to set Total Station orientation in various methods.
• Orientation by resection

Allows the user to resect from Known Stations or Reference points
• Orientation verification

Gives the user on screen results of Station Setup
• Network adjustment **
Least Squares adjustment through station control
• Motor instrument control**
• Contouring **
• Measurement History window

Keeps record and shows all previous measurements taken with the Disto and Total Station. This can be used to check measurements or re-use them at anytime for future rooms or offsets by simple selection.
• Room manager

The room manager will organise and allow information such as names, descriptions, layers and floors to be input for all your measured CAD data to maximise its utility for plan preparation.Rooms can then be linked proving useful when aligning entire rooms including door, wall, annotation and area information.
• Plan Builder (Strategy Checklist)

Compile a strategy for all users to carry out surveys starting with room outline through to feature addition.Used as a checklist ensures no information is missed within a room.
• Draw outline Plan

Survey room using Total Station observations on wall faces and corners. TheoLT has automatic corner creation when points on two adjacent wall faces have been surveyed.Survey perpendicular to wall lines at the touch of a button
• Square room (Disto)
Use room length, width and diagonal (optional) to determine a square room
• Room plan (Disto)
Using Disto measurements only, survey and plot wall lines using angle or diagonal mode. Both measurements and direction can be sent from Bluetooth Disto.
• Room plan fitting (Disto)
Adjust rooms by Least Squares method applying braces where necessary.Walls can be fixed and freed before and after adjustment.
• Layer group manager
Where a single drawing contains multiple floors (i.e.: a stacked plan drawing) you may wish to see only one floor at any one time. The layer group commands will maintain the layer structure from one floor level to the next and allow you to show and hide floors as required. The layer group manager makes data separation by floor simple and easy by automating the grouping of layers accordingly.
• Insert window

Insert windows along selected wall lines.Various measurement methods and annotation display options are available including:
• Measurement by width and single point.
• 2 point measurement.
• Annotation of opening height.
• Command line distance entry of hand measurement.
• Annotation of opening dimensions.
• Repetition of measurement sequence for each subsequent use.
• Insert door

Insert doors along selected wall lines.Various measurement methods and annotation display options are available including:
• The opening size to match the door swing.
• Measurement by width and hinge point.
• 2 point measurement.
• Annotation of opening height.
• Command line distance entry of measurement.
• Annotation of opening dimensions.
• Repetition of measurement sequence for each subsequent use of the command.
• Set relative reference datum
• Set absolute reference datum
• Shift absolute reference datum
• Measure room height
Show floor level with ceiling level or height
• Perpendicular return
• Align cursor
Allows the user to align the drawing cursor to an existing wall line.New rooms can then be drawn to this orientation.
• Create construction plane
• Intersect construction plane
• Circle and arc through 3D-points
• Room area dimension
Reports and annotates plan with area selected from the prompted dialog. Includes options to close area with a saved polyline, selection of zones, island detection and apply an area factor. A shaded preview is displayed to assist in perimeter selection, areas can be added and subtracted prior to reporting.
• Flatten drawing
Converts from 3d measurements into 2d drawing
• User definable feature library
Allows users to import existing symbols from Cad drawings into TheoLT library
• User definable form library
Allows users to create reports and forms including quick and easy 'tick box' format, for condition surveys and facilities management etc.
• Bluetooth inbox monitor
TheoLT automatically monitors the users Bluetooth folder to allow easy attachment of photos, voice recordings etc into a building plan.
