Working from the whole to the part (referencing previously surveyed external plans) or from the part to

the whole (building the plan room by room), DistToPlan solves distance only measurement with your choice from 3 methods:

Sketch and measure

The room outline may be sketched in place (with the sketch tool automatically aligning with existing corners and walls). Once sketched, the size is adjusted according to measurements, openings (windows and doors) and fixed points. Finally the outline is analysed and adjusted using the new advanced least-squares fitting engine.

Braced geometry

The room outline is directed by either angle (from Disto) or diagonals (from 2 previous surveyed walls).Selected walls can then be fixed and braced. The outline is then adjusted using the new advanced least-squares fitting engine.

Squared up

The room outline is assumed to be square and needs only a length and width measurement to be drawn.Diagonals are an optional addition to improve outline.

Create Disconnected, Semi-connected or Fully-connected plans. Using the AutoCAD layering structure, DistToPlan allows multiple floorplans within the same drawing file ensuring that details match from floor to floor in a multi-storey building.

Complex rooms are made easier with DistToPlan. The least-squares engine takes all the wall and check measurements into account (with weightings) and creates the bestfit plan.

Utilise a mobile phone to record voice notes or capture photographs and videos to highlight features in the building.DistToPlan Bluetooth Monitor does the rest.

• Measurement history window

Keeps record and shows all previous measurements taken with the Disto.This can be used to check measurements or re-use them at any time for future rooms or offsets by simple selection.

• Room manager

The room manager will organise and allow information such as names, descriptions, layers and floors to be input for all your measured CAD data to maximise its utility for plan preparation.Rooms can then be linked proving useful when aligning entire rooms including door, wall, annotation and area information.

• Plan builder (Strategy checklist)

Compile a strategy for all users to carry out surveys starting with room outline through to feature addition.Used as a checklist ensures no information is missed within a room.

• Draw outline plan

Using Disto measurements only, survey and plot wall lines using angle or diagonal mode.Both measurements and direction can be sent from Bluetooth Disto.

• Square room

Use room length, width and diagonal (optional) to determine a square room

• Room plan fitting

Adjust rooms by Least Squares method applying braces where necessary.Walls can be fixed and freed before and after adjustment.

• Layer group manager

Where a single drawing contains multiple floors (i.e.: a stacked plan drawing) you may wish to see only one floor at any one time.The layer group commands will maintain the layer structure from one floor level to the next and allow you to show and hide floors as required. The layer group manager makes data separation by floor simple and easy by automating the grouping of layers accordingly.

• Insert window

Insert windows along selected wall lines.Various measurement methods and annotation display options are available including:

• Measurement by width and single point.

• 2 point measurement.

• Annotation of opening height.

• Command line distance entry of hand measurement.

• Annotation of opening dimensions.

• Repetition of measurement sequence for each subsequent use.

• Insert door

Insert doors along selected wall lines.Various measurement methods and annotation display options are available including:

• The opening size to match the door swing.

• Measurement by width and hinge point.

• 2 point measurement.

• Annotation of opening height.

• Command line distance entry of measurement.

• Annotation of opening dimensions.

• Repetition of measurement sequence for each subsequent use of the command.

• Measure room height

Heights can be measured and displayed as absolute or relative.

• Perpendicular return

• Align cursor

Allows the user to align the drawing cursor to an existing wall line.New rooms can then be drawn to this orientation.

• Room area dimension (image 11)

Reports and annotates plan with area selected from the prompted dialogue. Includes options to close area with a saved polyline, selection of zones, island detection and apply an area factor. A shaded preview is displayed to assist in perimeter selection, areas can be added and subtracted prior to reporting.

• User definable feature library

Allows users to import existing symbols from Cad drawings into Distoplan library

• User definable form library

Allows users to create reports and forms including quick and easy 'tick box' format, for condition surveys and facilities management etc.

• Bluetooth inbox monitor

DistToPlan automatically monitors the users Bluetooth folder to allow easy attachment of photos, voice recordings etc into a building plan.
